Visitors to Accommodation Facilities up by 19.7% y/y
The number of visitors accommodated in tourist facilities in Albania during April 2026 increased by 19.7% compared to the same month last year, reflecting the continuation of the country's positive tourism trend.
According to data published by INSTAT, the number of resident visitors increased by 12.9%, while non-resident visitors increased by 22.6%, confirming the growing interest of foreign tourists in Albania. The indicator of overnight stays in accommodation facilities has also marked a positive trend.
In total, they increased by 5.6%, while overnight stays of resident visitors increased by 3.9% and those of non-resident visitors by 6.3%.
The data shows that the majority of foreign tourists who were accommodated in Albania during April came from Italy, with 23% of the total non-resident visitors. Kosova ranks second with 13%, followed by the United Kingdom with 8%. Germany and France accounted for 8% and 6% of foreign visitors respectively, while 42% of them came from other countries.
By region, the strongest growth in foreign tourists was recorded in the North region, where the number of visitors increased from 26,656 to 48,044. The Center region continues to remain the destination with the highest number of foreign tourists, with 101,481 visitors during April.
In coastal areas, 86,462 non-resident visitors were accommodated, compared to 67,930 a year earlier, while in non-coastal areas their number reached 96,992.
Hotels and similar structures remain the main form of accommodation, welcoming a total of 239,081 visitors during April, up from 198,127 in the same period in 2025.
Meanwhile, the hotel room occupancy rate was recorded at 22.4%, remaining unchanged compared to April last year.
