Vucic Puts Army Forces on High Alert as Tensions in Kosovo Rise
The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, who is expected to hold a rally in Serbia this Friday, has ordered the Armed Forces of Serbia to be put on high alert due to the events in the North.
"President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic has today issued an order to raise the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Serbia to the highest level," reports the Serbian news agency Tanjug.
"The President and Commander-in-Chief Aleksandar Vucic have signed an order to raise the combat readiness of the units of the Serbian Army to the highest level and have ordered them to move immediately in the direction of the administrative line with Kosovo," writes the Serbian agency.
The Serbian Minister of Defence also spoke about this later. "The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, shortly before 14:00 issued an order to the army to raise combat readiness to the highest level, and from that moment the Army began its activities," said Defense Minister Milos Vucevic. "An urgent movement towards the administrative line with Kosovo has been ordered", added Vucevic.
