'Burned Apartment Block in Tirana to Be Fully Rebuilt, Residents to Receive Rent Support'

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced financial support and a full reconstruction plan for residents affected by a recent apartment fire in Tirana that left dozens of families without homes.

Speaking on the “Flasim” podcast, Rama confirmed that the building will be entirely rebuilt by the developer, while displaced residents will benefit from rent bonuses and additional assistance from the Municipality of Tirana until they can return.

The prime minister described the fire as a shocking event that initially raised fears for residents’ lives. However, he emphasized that no fatalities or serious injuries were reported, crediting the rapid and “heroic” response of firefighting teams.

Rama said preliminary assessments suggest the blaze was caused by an isolated spark and not directly linked to construction issues, adding that the building had used certified materials.

Authorities have pledged continued support for affected families, as efforts move forward to rebuild the structure and restore normal living conditions.
