Albania, Greece Deepen Investment Cooperation
Greece and Albania moved to strengthen bilateral ties with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Delphi Economic Forum, focusing on investment development and the exchange of know-how.
The MoU was signed on Wednesday by Growthfund CEO Yiannis Papachristou and Albanian Investment Corporation (AIC) CEO Elira Kokona, in the presence of Albania’s Minister of Economy and Innovation Delina Ibrahimaj, and other officials.
The agreement outlines cooperation across key areas, including the management and development of public real estate assets, innovation and artificial intelligence (AI), sustainable infrastructure, and the development of multipurpose exhibition and conference centers.
“It establishes a framework for cooperation in key areas shaping the future of our economies, including the use of public assets, innovation, artificial intelligence, and infrastructure development,” Papachristou said.
The MoU forms part of Growthfund’s broader strategy to strengthen its international partnerships and promote a more active model for leveraging investment tools and expertise.
The cooperation focuses on public asset utilization, public-private partnerships, urban regeneration projects, and the development of technology parks and start-up ecosystems.
It also includes the exploration of co-financing tools, joint regional initiatives, and the promotion of co-investment opportunities, as well as the creation of a shared Greece-Albania exhibition calendar. “By focusing on practical steps – bringing projects to market, exploring co-investment models, and connecting them with international capital – the MoU ensures that cooperation translates into concrete, measurable results and long-term value creation,” Kokona said.
Running from April 22 to 25, the Delphi Economic Forum brings together political, business, academic, and civil society leaders to discuss global challenges and emerging opportunities.
