Albania Is Kosovo's Main Export Partner; Report

The Kosovo Chamber of Commerce has published the report "Kosovo Foreign Trade Statistics - Trade Relations by Country, Top 10 Export and Import Countries 2025", which presents detailed data on the country's exports, imports, and main trading partners during the period January-December 2025.

According to the report, Kosovo's exports during 2025 reached a value of Euro 942.1 million, marking a slight decrease of about 0.2% compared to 2024, when exports amounted Euro 944.3 million.

On the other hand, imports have continued to grow and have reached Euro 7.48 million, or 11.3% more than a year earlier. As a result of this dynamic, the trade deficit has widened to over Euro 6.1 billion, marking an increase of 13.3% compared to the previous year.

The report highlights that the coverage of imports by exports has fallen to 13.4%, from 14.9% a year earlier, reflecting the faster growth of imports compared to exports.

Regarding trade partners, the structure of exports shows that Albania remains Kosovo's main partner with 17% of total exports. It is followed by North Macedonia with 14.7%, Germany with 11.4%, Switzerland with 10.5%, Serbia with 6.5% and Montenegro with 6%. Important export partners also include Turkey with 3.5%, Italy with 3.1%, the Netherlands with 3% and the United States of America with 2.6%.

Overall, Kosovo’s top 10 export destinations in 2025 include: Albania, North Macedonia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, the USA, and Austria.

The report shows that CEFTA countries continue to remain the main market for Kosovo’s exports, with 431.5 million euros or 45.8% of total exports. Exports to the European Union have reached Euro 316.2 million, which constitute 33.6% of total exports.

On the import side, the Top 10 countries from which Kosovo is mainly supplied are Germany, Turkey, Albania, Serbia, China, Italy, Greece, North Macedonia, and Austria. These countries constitute the main sources of goods entering the Kosovo market and dominate the country’s import structure.
