Albania-Kosovo Aim Added Customs Cooperation
The Director General of Albanian Customs, Besmir Beja, received on Wednesday in a meeting the Director General of Kosovo Customs, Agron Llugaliu, the first official meeting of the Director General since taking office.
In a statement, Albanian Customs announced that during the conversation, the very good relations and stable cooperation between the two customs administrations over the years were appreciated, with concrete results in facilitating procedures and increasing trade exchanges.
The presence of Kosovo Customs at the Port of Durres and the operation of the unique One Stop Shop point in Morina border crossing have been considered as added values ??for the economies of both countries, saving time and costs for businesses and increasing the flow of goods and passengers.
The Director of Kosovo Customs emphasized that the opening of the Customs Office at the Port of Durres represents an important achievement for the Kosovo economy, creating real convenience for economic operators and increasing their competitiveness.
For his part, the Director General of Albanian Customs emphasized digitalization processes as a key element for simplifying procedures, increasing transparency and improving service to businesses, as well as cooperation in joint investigations and the fight against illegality.
The meeting reconfirmed the joint commitment to strengthening customs cooperation in order to facilitate trade, security, and economic development of the two countries.
