Albania Records Increased Covid-19 Fatalities
Number citizens who have passed away after contracting the SARS-CoV-2 has increased in these last 24 hours. The Ministry of Health announced Wednesday that 9 people died due to the virus: 1 citizen from Kavaja 57 years old, 4 citizens from Tirana 62-83 years old, 1 citizen from Shkodra 64 years old, 1 citizen from Përmet 68 years old, 1 citizen from Elbasan 72 years old and 1 citizen from Fier 78 years old.
Fortunately, 825 citizens have been cured in the last 24 hours, bringing the number of recoveries to 162,322 since the beginning of the epidemic, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Albania.
In the meantime, 572 nationals have resulted positive for the virus after 3808 tests in the last 24 hours. Areas most affected by the COVID-19 were Fier, Durres and Kamza, with 45, 23 and 19 new cases each, while Tirana had the highest number of infections, 237 cases.
For the time being, there are 8134 active patients with COVID19 across the country and 179 patients are receiving treatment at COVID Hospitals, 31 of whom are in the most severe condition.
