Albanian journalist Enrik Mehmeti was killed in a quad bike accident at Porto Novo Beach near Zvërnec on Saturday evening, according to preliminary information from police.

Authorities said the 40-year-old was riding a four-wheel motorbike when he is believed to have lost control of the vehicle following an apparent driving error. The quad bike reportedly overturned several times.

During the crash, Mehmeti was struck in the chest by a metal part of the vehicle, sustaining critical injuries.

Despite the rapid response of emergency services, he was pronounced dead. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
