Albanian Lawmaker Signals Renewed Ambition for Tirana Leadership

Socialist Member of Parliament, Erion Braçe has hinted at continued political ambitions in the capital, suggesting he has not stepped back from his interest in leading Tirana.

In a recent post on Facebook, Braçe shared clips from an interview he gave a year ago on the program “Dritare,” revisiting his public statements and political message.

Alongside the videos, Braçe emphasized his connection with constituents, noting that after four years as a member of parliament, he was elected as the representative for Unit 5 in Tirana. He argued that there is unlikely to be any resident in the area who could say they do not know their deputy, stressing that the role is defined by work rather than “vanity.”

Drawing a parallel with the current situation in the capital, Braçe stated that Tirana has been without a mayor for a year, pledging to “restore the mayor with the same dedication as I restored the deputy.”

He concluded his message with the phrase “neighborhood by neighborhood and street by street,” signaling a grassroots approach to his political engagement.
