Appellate College Returns Tirana Judge, Guri on Duty
Special Appellate College (KPA) has announced on Friday that after reviewing the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission (IQC) and the evidence of the case, it found that Judge Anila Guri should be confirmed in duty.
In the summarized decision, the College stated that Guri could not be held responsible for the construction of a house by her husband before marriage.
Moreover, the KPA noted that the negative balance of the judge recalculated in the College was "significantly lower" than that found by the IQC.
The panel reported that the panel found the Commission's decision to dismiss the judge unfair and decided to overturn it.
Guri, who was considered with priority in vetting because she ran for vacant seats in the Constitutional Court, was dismissed by the IQC for financial impossibility in several years in the amount of 2.1 million ALL, incorrect statements and lack of resources to purchase a car.
Afterwards, Guri appealed the decision and the Special Appellate announced that the appeal in question was passed to a public hearing after the initial hearing in the deliberation room "In order to ascertain correctly and fully the factual situation of the case under consideration".
Following this review, the KPA found the IQC decision unbased.
Nevertheless, judge Anila Guri (Kristani) started her career in July 1996 in the Tirana Judicial District Court, where she served for 23 years.
