Opposition Mobilization Grows as Anti-Government Protests Expand Across Tirana and Diaspora
The ongoing wave of protests against the Zvërnec investment project continues to intensify in Tirana, spreading beyond national borders and gaining traction among diaspora communities.
In a new development, a mobilization message is reportedly circulating within Democratic Party WhatsApp groups, calling supporters to join today’s protest at 18:00. The gathering point is set to be in front of the Pyramid of Tirana, near the main bus station.
The message urges participants to unite and increase pressure through daily demonstrations. “Today is the time for all of us to come together and demand accountability every day until we achieve our goal,” the message states.
The development comes at a time when the Democratic Party appears to be adjusting its stance toward the protests. Initially, the opposition had expressed skepticism and even criticized the civic mobilization, but recent signals suggest a shift toward closer engagement with the demonstrations.
The increasing coordination through messaging apps highlights how the protests—originally sparked as a public reaction to the Zvërnec project—are evolving into a broader political battleground, with opposition structures becoming more visibly involved.
Organizers continue to call for sustained participation, emphasizing unity and daily mobilization as key elements of the movement’s strategy.
