Archaeologists Make Important Discoveries in Himara
Archaeologists in Himare have made important discoveries, which prove that in the materials found, the documented culture is the same as the rest of Illyria.
The news was shared by Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a note on the "Facebook" social network. The head of the government says that during the excavations the third mound was discovered, which presents unique elements of the architecture of the construction of hill tombs, an early Illyrian tradition.
"Impressive discoveries in Himare. During the excavations in October, the third mound was discovered, near the tumulus cemetery in Himarë, which presents unique elements of the architecture of the construction of hill tombs. The objects discovered there belong to the early iron period (XI-X centuries BC). The prehistoric mounds of Himara are considered the most astonishing monuments of the Bronze and Iron Age on the Ionian coast. The culture documented in them is the same as that of the rest of Illyria", writes Rama.
