Armed Robber Steals Cash From Bank in Central Tirana, Police Launch Manhunt

Police have launched a search operation after an armed and masked suspect robbed a bank in central Tirana on Tuesday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:26 p.m. on “Gjin Bue Shpata” Street, according to preliminary information released by authorities.

Police said the suspect entered the bank wearing a mask and allegedly threatened employees with what appeared to be a firearm before taking a sum of money and fleeing the scene.

Investigators believe the robber used a scooter both to arrive at the bank and to escape after carrying out the heist.

Following the incident, law enforcement agencies immediately established checkpoints across the area and mobilized police units in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspect.

A forensic and investigative team is currently working to collect evidence, review security footage, and document the circumstances surrounding the robbery.

Authorities have not released details regarding the amount of money stolen, and no arrests have been made so far. The investigation remains ongoing.
