Arrests Rise to 13 After Violent Clashes at Protest Outside Albanian Parliament

The number of arrests following violent clashes during a protest outside the Albanian Parliament has risen to 13, while a total of 20 individuals have been detained or escorted by police, according to preliminary information reported from the scene.

Authorities said those arrested will remain in custody until they appear before court, with hearings expected within 72 hours at the Tirana Court, where judges will determine pre-trial detention measures.

The individuals are being investigated on charges of “destruction of property,” following disturbances that erupted during the demonstration.

In total, police intervened against 20 people after the protest escalated into violence outside the Parliament. During the incidents, 9 police officers were injured and 5 protesters also sustained injuries, according to initial reports.

The situation remains under investigation as authorities continue to review evidence from the clashes and determine further legal actions.
