Sali Berisha is now officially the sole candidate in the race for the leadership of Albania’s Democratic Party of Albania, following a decision by the party’s election commission to disqualify all other contenders.

According to the last upedate by the blue headquarters, candidates Mereme Sela and Vladimir Mulaj were excluded from the race, leaving Berisha without competition.

A day earlier, additional candidacies had been submitted by Ervin Salianji, Evi Kokalari, and Alesia Balliu, but their applications were also rejected by the commission.

The developments effectively clear the path for Berisha to secure the party leadership uncontested.
