Body of Missing 34-Year-Old Found in Elbasan Area as Police Investigate Possible Foul Play
The family of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi has arrived in the village of Cerujë in the Elbasan region of Albania, where a lifeless body was discovered on Thursday afternoon.
Police sources indicate that investigators may have located the body of Koçi, who had been missing for two weeks. The discovery was made in the vicinity of Cerujë village, with both the investigative team and family members present at the scene as authorities worked to determine the identity of the deceased.
Koçi was last seen on June 4 near “Wilson Square” in the capital Tirana, traveling on a motorcycle. He was reported missing by his family on June 5.
The 34-year-old was employed at a furniture workshop, though police believe he may also have been involved in cryptocurrency-related activities, which remains one of the key lines of investigation.
Authorities are also searching for a suspect identified as Armand Shakaj. Investigators say he has reportedly changed six phone numbers in an effort to avoid detection, with all numbers registered under his name and those of family members. Phone signal data reportedly places activity in Tirana.
The investigation is ongoing, while official identification of the body has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
