An unusual incident unfolded on Sunday on the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” boulevard in Tirana, where a vehicle was driven onto the steps of Albania’s Prime Minister’s Office.

According to local media reports, after crashing the vehicle into the entrance stairs of the government building, the driver exited the car and approached the main entrance of the Prime Minister’s Office. The individual then reportedly kicked the institution’s doors repeatedly for several minutes.

Witnesses say a police officer initially approached the vehicle but stepped back moments later, remaining at a distance while the man continued striking the doors of the government building.

Authorities later intervened and managed to neutralize the individual, who was subsequently escorted to Police Station No. 1 in Tirana for further questioning.

As of now, Albania’s State Police has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Further details are expected in the coming hours.
