Customs Procedures Significantly Simplified
Customs procedures have been significantly simplified for businesses, reducing bureaucracy and their waiting time.
Albanian Customs has announced significant improvements in customs procedures, reducing the average processing time of declarations and finalizing the process of full digitalization of services.
According to official data, the average processing time of customs procedures for the period January-October 2025 has decreased to 3.25 days, compared to 3.48 days in the same period of 2024. This represents a decrease of 0.23 days for each procedure, reflecting increased efficiency and facilitation of processes for businesses and citizens.
On the other hand, the General Directorate of Customs has confirmed that all services are now offered online. Currently, the institution offers 41 online services that make 100% of customs services electronic, enabling full access without the need for physical presence.
During the period January-October, there are 6180 online services approved by the customs administration.
According to Customs, the digitalization of the customs system has brought more convenience to businesses, guaranteeing faster procedures, increased transparency, and reduced corruption levels.
This step towards full digitalization aims to, in addition to increasing transparency, reduce administrative costs and increase processing speed for economic operators and the public.
In a global market where time and automation are essential for competitiveness, digitalization is also a key factor in boosting the business climate in the country.
