NED Associate Director Thanks Albania for Sheltering Afghans

The associate director for Europe at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), Tanja Dramac, thanks Albania for hosting Afghan nationals whose lives are in danger from the Taliban regime.

In a message on social media, Dramac expressed gratitude to the team that received the Afghans at Rinas Airport, in the late hours of the night, as well as the US Embassy in Tirana and Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"We are grateful to the field team, who continued to work throughout the morning, and especially to the US Embassy in Albania and Prime Minister Edi Rama, for hosting our Afghan brothers and sisters," the official wrote in the message.

Meanwhile, in a message posted earlier, after the arrival of the two planes in the early hours of this Sunday, she stated that “We finally did it. More Afghan subordinate activists are now safe and no longer in danger. Proud and grateful that a country like Albania has offered a safe shelter".
