Double Killing in Lezhë, Police Identify Suspects as Revenge Motive Suspected
Authorities in northern Albania have identified three suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of a married couple in the city of Lezhë, as investigators point to a possible revenge motive rooted in a years-old feud.
According to an official statement from Albanian State Police, the victims—Kreshnik and Gentiana Mujeci, parents of four children—were killed in an attack that took place a day earlier. Police confirmed that three individuals have been declared wanted in relation to the crime.
The suspects have been identified as Adriano Mhillaj, 22, Florin Mhillaj, 36, and Renato Mhillaj, 23.
Investigators say there are strong indications that the killings may be linked to a revenge cycle. Kreshnik Mujeci was previously known to law enforcement and had been arrested in 2017 alongside relatives, accused in the killing of Gegë Mhillaj in an incident dating back to October 2016.
Reports suggest that the three wanted suspects are family members of the late Gegë Mhillaj, further reinforcing suspicions of retaliatory violence. Police have yet to locate or apprehend any of the suspects, and operations to track them down are ongoing.
Authorities say more details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.
