“Gratitude to the Chair and members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs for approving today, with 58 votes in favor and 7 against, the resolution on Albania — a very important document reflecting the country’s significant progress on its path toward European Union membership,” Balla wrote.
According to Balla, the resolution underscores the European Parliament’s acknowledgment of Albania’s commitment to the accession process and supports the country’s ambition to conclude membership negotiations by the end of 2027.
He also praised the work of the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Albania, Andreas Schieder, for what he described as a serious, objective, and supportive assessment of the country’s achievements and reform efforts.
