Europol and INTERPOL Strengthen Partnership Against Global Criminal Threats
Europol and INTERPOL have renewed their joint commitment to combatting transnational organised crime, agreeing on a new set of Joint Key Operational Priorities (JKOP) that will guide cooperation between the two organisations in the year ahead.
The renewed framework strengthens coordination across a range of crime areas, including organised crime, cybercrime, economic and financial crime, and counter-terrorism. Developed jointly by operational experts from both organisations, the priorities are designed to support a more proactive and coordinated response to criminal networks operating across borders.
The agreement was formally signed during INTERPOL’s European Regional Conference in Toledo, Spain, in May 2026 by Europol’s Deputy Executive Director Operations, Jean-Philippe Lecouffe, and INTERPOL’s Executive Director for Police Capabilities, Harald Arm, and Stephen Fry, Executive Director Investigation Support.
As key partners in the global security architecture, Europol and INTERPOL work hand in hand to tackle criminal threats that transcend borders. Their cooperation combines Europol’s support to EU Member States with INTERPOL’s international reach, enabling law enforcement authorities worldwide to share intelligence, coordinate actions and disrupt the most serious criminal networks.
