Fier Prosecution Office Brings Police Officer to Trial for Allegedly Stalking Ex-Partner after 17-Year Relationship

Fier Prosecution Office completed the investigations and referred police officer A.M. to trial on charges of “Stalking,” as stipulated in Article 121/a, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.

Investigations into criminal proceeding no. 295 of 2025 established that on February 10, 2025, citizen L.C. filed a complaint against A.M., a police officer with whom she had been in a relationship for 17 years before separating in 2024. During this period, A.M. allegedly repeatedly harassed the complainant through phone communications as well as in person, exerting psychological pressure and causing her a continuous and severe state of anxiety and fear for her personal security.

Regarding these incidents, the complainant had filed several reports with the Prosecution Offices in Fier and Durrës.

Following a full and comprehensive investigation, it was concluded that sufficient evidence existed to charge A.M. with the criminal offense of stalking.

Subsequently, Fier Prosecution Office reaffirmed its commitment to investigating and prosecuting crimes that threaten personal safety, moral freedom, peace of mind, and the normal course of individuals’ lives.
