Five TEFAF Robbery Suspects Added to EU Most Wanted

As of 29 October 2026, five new fugitives, four men and one woman, have been added to the EU Most Wanted list.

According to the Limburg Public Prosecutor's Office (Openbaar Ministerie) and the Dutch Police (Politie), all five suspects are involved in the European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF) robbery that took place on 28 June 2022 in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

On that day, the suspects used violent force to gain access to display cases containing valuable jewellery and took off with a haul worth millions of euros.

So far, three diamonds from the total bundle have been recovered. Earlier this year, another diamond was found in Botswana. Previously, two diamonds had been recovered and seized—one in Hong Kong and the other in Israel.

TEFAF robbed in 2022, targeted also in 2020

The investigation, supported by Europol, revealed that an earlier attempt to rob the Maastricht art fair was made in March 2020. According to information channelled via Europol, at least one of the five suspects is linked to this attempt. This lead was found in Sky ECC communications data.

Sky ECC, an encrypted messaging service widely used by criminals, was taken offline by police in March 2021, and the data was seized. To this day, law enforcement authorities across the EU and beyond continue to identify suspects through seized Sky ECC data.

Have you seen them?

The Public Prosecutor's Office has offered a reward of EUR 20 000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects in the TEFAF jewellery heist in Maastricht.
