The Ministry of Justice, led by Toni Gogu, has sent official responses to Bledi Çuçi and Fatmir Xhafaj regarding the transfer of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj from Durrës prison to Fier prison.

Meanwhile, a response is still expected from the General Directorate of Prisons after the justice minister ordered an inspection into 24 inmate transfers carried out over the past 11 days.

The inspection aims to verify whether the procedures governing the transfers were properly followed. Its findings are expected to be made public following the prison authorities’ official response.
