Gov’t Approves Increase in Minimum Wage to ALL 50,000

The government approved yesterday an increase in the monthly minimum wage, raising it from ALL 40,000 to ALL 50,000, as part of the commitments undertaken toward citizens and employees.

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, said the decision affects around 307,850 employees registered in the public and private sectors and aims to protect living standards, strengthen human capital and improve the well-being of thousands of Albanian families.

According to her, the increase in the minimum wage is expected to have a positive impact on reducing informality in the labor market, as well as strengthening respect for legal contracts and employee rights.

“At the same time, the increase in the minimum wage helps reduce informality in the labor market and strengthen respect for legal contracts. The economy grows when work is valued and the dignity of employees is placed at the center of public policies,” Ibrahimaj declared.
