Govt to Fund Establishment of Albanian National Council Offices in Medvegja
The acting Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Gent Cakaj, informed that after the financial support for the free distribution of school materials for Albanian students in the Presevo Valley, the Government of Albania has decided to allocate the necessary financial means for the opening of offices of the Albanian National Council in Medvegja.
The Albanians of Medvegja, as Minister Cakaj emphasized, have an extraordinary need for the presence of the Council and the support of Albania, especially in their confrontation with the issue of passivity and in front of the major challenge for preserving the Albanian language as an official language.
"Therefore, in the face of these historical challenges of the Albanians of Medvegja, we must take political responsibilities to support them institutionally," said Cakaj.
Moreover, according to Cakaj, Albania's support for the opening of the offices of the Albanian National Council in Medvegja is necessary, but insufficient.
"This simply marks the beginning of a deeper and systematic work for the protection of rights and strong support for the Albanians of Medvegja," concluded Cakaj.
