GP Announces Call for Expressions of Interest regarding Candidates to the High Prosecutorial Council

Today, the General Prosecutor, Olsian Çela, announced the call for expressions of interest from the prosecutors regarding three positions as members of the High Prosecutorial Council.
Pursuant to Article 107 of Law No. 115/2016, the call has been opened due to the upcoming expiration of the mandates of three HPC members on 18 December 2026. The vacancies include one member to be elected from among first-instance prosecutors, one member from among prosecutors of the Prosecution Office attached to the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, and one member from among prosecutors of the General Prosecution Office.
Accordingly, the interested prosecutors shall submit a written application addressed to the General Prosecutor by 21 July 2026, who will subsequently convene the General Assembly of Prosecutors from all levels for the selection of candidates.
Prosecutors from first-instance prosecution offices of general jurisdiction, the Prosecution Office attached to the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), and the General Prosecution Office who meet the criteria set out in Law No. 115/2016, “On the Governance Bodies of the Justice System,” are called upon to express their interest for participation in the selection process of the High Prosecutorial Council’s member by submitting their applications to the email address info@pp.gov.al or by post to the General Prosecution Office, Rruga Qemal Stafa No. 01, 1001 Tirana, Albania.
