GPO and Ministry of Justice Sign Agreement on Statistical Data Regarding Criminal Prosecution

he General Prosecutor, Olsian Çela signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Justice, Toni Gogu “On Harmonization, Implementation and Publication of National Statistical Data regarding Criminal Prosecution.
The objective of this agreement is the inter-institutional cooperation on the methodology harmonization and standardization as well as on the regulation of the process of collecting, processing, exchanging, reporting and publishing statistical data on criminal prosecution in the Prosecutor’s Offices of General Jurisdiction. 
This agreement aims to enhance transparency, accountability and access into criminal prosecution statistics as well as to strengthen the public trust through publication of accurate statistic data in compliance with the European standards. 
In his speech, the General Prosecutor, Olsian Çela, highlighted the importance of the digitalization of the justice system as a necessary condition for the accurate management of data. 
“This system has been defective until now, since it has mainly been a manual process of collecting and processing data. We hope that in the near future the justice system will become fully digitalized and functional in collecting, processing and transmitting data”, said the General Prosecutor
