Ilir Panda elected new head of Albania’s Supreme Court

Ilir Panda has been elected as the new President of Albania’s Supreme Court, following a unanimous vote by the court’s General Meeting of Judges.

Panda’s candidacy was approved with 14 votes in favor and none against, according to the decision taken by the General Meeting of Judges of the Supreme Court.

He will formally assume office on October 19, 2026, when he will take over as head of the country’s highest judicial institution.

Panda was elected directly by the Supreme Court’s judges during the General Meeting, where his candidacy received the unanimous support of the votes cast.

Starting October 19, Panda will serve as President of the Supreme Court, taking charge of the institution and its leadership.
