The Kapshtica border crossing between Albania and Greece will temporarily suspend operations on Monday, July 27, due to a strike by Greek customs officers, Albanian customs authorities announced.

According to the official notice, cross-border traffic will be halted from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Albanian time, following a decision by the Greek customs administration. During this period, no vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit through the Kapshtica Border Crossing.

Albanian Customs has urged travellers and businesses planning to cross into Greece to avoid using the Kapshtica checkpoint during the four-hour closure in order to prevent delays and long queues.

In its statement, the customs authority said the temporary suspension applies to all vehicle traffic in both directions and is a direct consequence of the industrial action being carried out by Greek customs employees.

Normal operations are expected to resume after 9:00 a.m. local time, once the strike-related restrictions are lifted.
