The 21-year-old who killed the Crime Officer, Saimir Hoxha in Lezha, with a firearm, passed away this Wednesday morning at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana. 

During the RENEA operation to arrest him, Aldi Rama shot himself with a pistol in the Kune-Vain lagoon, where he failed to survive. 

The serious incident happened the day before in Kune-Vain in Lezha where five police officers went to destroy a plot of 110 cannabis plants. In return, they encountered a vehicle in which three young men were inside. Officer Saimir Hoxha asked for the documents from 21-year-old Aldi Rama, but the latter refused and shot him in the neck and chest. 

The policeman died on the way to the hospital, while Rama took the vehicle and left quickly, endangering the lives of two of Hoxha's other colleagues. They shot him in the back and one of tires was damaged and he was forced to abandon the vehicle not so far from the crime scene, hiding in a vegetated area for several hours until he decided to shoot himself, losing his life this Wednesday morning. 

Aldi Rama, raised by his grandparents, after his parents were divorced, had a previous criminal record. He ended up in prison at the age of 18, after being accused of stealing and possessing cannabis, while he was also reported by his girlfriend for physical violence. Even in 2020, he was banned again for illegal possession of cold steel. 

Police announcement:

Following the actions carried out by the special investigative group, under the direction of the Lezha Prosecutor's Office, to clarify and fully document the event where the employee of the Police S.H was killed, at the end of the first investigative actions was made the flagrant arrest of citizens A.M, 26 years old and K. Sh., 27 years old, resident in Lezha. 

Meanwhile, around 05:35 this morning, the perpetrator of the event, citizen Aldi Rama, passed away at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana. Forensic experts, in the presence of the investigative group and under the direction of the Lezha Judicial District Prosecutor's Office, are conducting an autopsy and all other legal actions.
