Kosovo to Host 2030 Mediterranean Games
Kosovo will organize the Mediterranean Games in 2030.
The decision was taken by the General Assembly of the International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), which was held in Heraklion, Greece. Athletes from 26 countries participate in the Mediterranean Games. Kosovo's candidacy received 58 votes in favour and only 7 against, thus winning with the overwhelming majority of votes.
Kosovo is expected to invest over 250 million euros for the organization of this major sporting event. "Pristina 2030" will be the 21st edition of the Mediterranean Games.
The Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, made a short comment about this achievement, who considered the announcement of Kosovo as the host country of the 2030 Mediterranean Games a historic achievement.
