The Special Court of Appeals released from custody the former judge of Kruja, Enkeleda Hoxha and the secretary of the court, Manuela Mallkuçi. 

The day before the court refused to release her, because the deadline for lifting the security measure had not been met. Former Judge Enkeleda Hoxha was accused of corruption and abuse of office. Enkeleda Hoxha was sentenced to 3 years in prison from the first instance. 

The judge was arrested along with 9 other people for passive corruption. The judge is accused of having signed the reduction of the sentence of the citizen Saimir Petani, sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder committed in 1995 in Lushnja and then sentenced to 9 years in prison in Milan in 2003 and extradited to Albania, where he was serving a prison sentence. For the reduction of the sentence that would later bring and the release of the convict for fulfilling the deadlines, Hoxha is accused of having received a large amount of money together with the lawyer Aldo Tabaku. The latter results in almost all decisions given by Judge Hoxha. 

The High Inspectorate of Justice has previously requested the dismissal of Judge Enkelejda Hoxha, as her name is associated with the release of many lifers, including Endrit Dokle, Genc Tafili, or Hekuran Billa, who was killed a few months ago in Tirana. 

The judge of Kruja, who has not yet appeared in the vetting, Enkelejda Hoxha, released from prison Indrit Doklen, sentenced to life imprisonment, as a member of the Durrës gang, accused of several murders, injuries and other crimes. 

In November 2017, she released Genc Tafili, involved in the assassination of Colonel Arben Zylyftari. Tafili had served 17 years in prison, out of 25 he had been convicted of. Another release signed by Judge Hoxha is that of Ilir Paja, who had more than a year left in prison. Paja is known for some of his escapes to prisons in Italy and Germany. Paja was released a few days after Tafili. 

Enkeleda Hoxha, in 2018, also decided to release from prison Rexhep Rraja, the son of the socialist MP Rrahman Rraja. He was sentenced to 1 year in prison for violence against Xhisiela Maloku, but the judge decided to convert the sentence into probation.
