Man from Bangladesh Dead, Another Injured After Warehouse Fire in Albania
A deadly fire broke out early Sunday morning in the Fllakë area of Sector Rinia, Albania, leaving one person dead and another injured, according to preliminary police reports.
Authorities said the blaze erupted at around 8:00 a.m. inside a warehouse facility, specifically in the area used to prepare meals for the company’s employees. Investigators suspect the fire was caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder.
The victim was identified as O. M., a 25-year-old man from Bangladesh, who reportedly died from asphyxiation caused by the smoke.
Another worker, identified as Ch. Ch., a 30-year-old man from Kenya, was injured and transported to hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Police and firefighting teams rushed to the scene shortly after the incident was reported and managed to contain and extinguish the flames.
An investigative team, operating under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is continuing work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, determine the exact cause of the fire, and complete the legal documentation of the case.
