The management plan of Vjosa river will be discussed publicly.

Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said Monday that the consultation process will be held on May 22-23.

Public consultation will be developed in Fier, Vlora and Gjirokaster.

"We are taking another important step in the protection of the Vjosa River, the last wild river in Europe, where the Management Plan for the National Park has already been drawn up as a careful and intensive work by the National Agency of Protected Areas and international experts IUCN, being ready to be consulted in public

It is the turn of the local communities, those who live there and will be the first to enjoy the fruits of the new park, to have their voice in the plan for the management of Vjosa, which is protected as a National Park on 480 km of river line, on 12,000 hectares of surface, with its three branches, from the entrance to the territory of Albania to the estuary... and for all those who said that Vjosa is left outside the protection limits, the opposite is true, that it is twofold Protected Area as part of the Vjosa River National Park and as part of the Poro-Narte Pine Protected Landscape for its exceptional natural importance," said Rama.
