Netherlands Requires Assistance on Investigation of Albanians Suspected as Cocaine Traffickers
The Dutch Judicial Authorities, namely the Amsterdam Prosecutor's Office, have submitted a request for legal aid, in which they informed that Albanian citizens Ilirjan Memia, Valentin Selaj, Florenc Guri, Erion Koleci, Ded Pjetri and Jorgo Wajtaszcz are being investigated in the Netherlands for the criminal offenses of “Drug Trafficking“, "Participation in a criminal organization" and "Laundering the proceeds of criminal activity".
Is suspected that a part of the assets acquired as a result of criminal activity have been transferred to Albania by making various investments. According to the letter from the investigations carried out in the Netherlands, it has resulted that the citizens Ilirjan Memia, Valentin Selaj, Florenc Guri, Erion Koleci, Ded Pjetri and Jorgo Wajtaszczyk have been involved in criminal activity in the field of cocaine trafficking for several years, trafficking it from Latin American countries to the port of Amsterdam and then to other European countries such as England, Italy, etc.
During these investigations, the amount of 97 kg of cocaine and 16 kg of heroin were seized from these citizens.
The object of this letter rogatory was to carry out property verifications for these citizens and their families in Albania as well as to carry out verifications and collect data that could lead to the discovery of the assets of these citizens in other countries.
