On January 4 Albania Reduces Services for Unvaccinated

Starting from January 4, all employees of public administration, supermarkets and shopping malls will have to submit the vaccination certificate, otherwise, they will have to submit the test answer every 5 days to prove that they are not carriers of Covid-19.

Minister Manastirliu's order stipulates that, in addition to the test and vaccination passport, the recovery certificate will also be valid. The latter is issued by the health authorities and is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Exceptions to this order are cases that have health problems, which make it impossible to inject the anti-Covid vaccine.

Official data show that vaccine coverage in our country continues to be low. Over the course of a year, only 40 percent of the population is vaccinated with both doses of anti-Covid.

Meanwhile, since November, the third dose of the vaccine has been applied to all those over 6 months who have injected the second dose. Compulsory vaccination for employees of the administration, supermarkets and shopping malls came as a result not only of the slowing down of vaccination rates or the fact that these categories are more exposed to infection but also due to the threat of new variants that are in circulation.

For several weeks, the transmissibility of the "Omicron" variant has been viewed with great concern by the health authorities, who have restored the restrictions, arousing a lot of anger in the population. Under these conditions, when the presence of coronavirus remains a threat, hope is seen in vaccination.
