PM Edi Rama to Host European Council President António Costa Ahead of EU-Western Balkans Summit

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is set to host European Council President António Costa on Tuesday as part of the senior EU official’s diplomatic tour of six Western Balkan countries.

The visit comes ahead of the EU–Western Balkans Summit scheduled to take place on June 5 in Tivat, Montenegro, and underscores the European Union’s continued engagement with the region.

The upcoming summit follows a previous gathering held in Brussels six months ago, reflecting the EU’s commitment to strengthening political, economic, and strategic ties with Western Balkan partners as the region continues its path toward deeper European integration.

According to the official agenda, Rama and Costa will hold a bilateral meeting between their respective delegations from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. local time.

A joint press conference is scheduled to take place from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m., during which the two leaders are expected to discuss regional cooperation, EU enlargement issues, and key priorities ahead of the summit in Montenegro.

Journalists planning to attend the press conference have been advised to complete accreditation procedures in advance of the event.
