President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has honored this Friday four legendary leaders of patriotic movements for the protection of freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity, Prekë Cali, Pretash Zekë Ulaj, Prekë Gjolaj and Kole Maç Smajlaj. 

They are from Malesia e Madhe, and President Meta expressed his gratitude for the contribution and brave acts shown to raise the National Flag. 

"On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the raising of the National Flag in Decic by the Hero Ded Gjo Luli and the holding of the historic Assembly of Greece, important events that preceded the Independence of Albania, I had the special pleasure today to appreciate in Malësia e Madhe, the region symbol of patriotism and resistance, four of her most prominent sons, the legendary leaders of patriotic movements for the protection of freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity, Prekë Cali, Pretash Zekë Ulaj, Prekë Gjolaj and Kole Maç Smajlaj. 

I express my deepest gratitude and respect for the contributions and brave acts, for the sublime sacrifices and patriotism shown to raise the National Flag, which will always inspire. Nothing can undo the patriotism and the bloodshed for the defense of a free, independent, and sovereign Albania!", stated Meta.
