President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has been awarded this Saturday the "Order of International Blood Merit" by the President of the International Federation of Blood Donors' Organizations (IFBDO), Gian Franco Massaro.

This award was given during the ceremony of the 3rd anniversary "Blood Donation Alliance", which President Massaro attended and thanked President Meta for the initiative, calling this example unique.

"President Ilir Meta, you are among the only politicians in the world who give your soul for the cause of blood donation, and after this meeting, I will spread your unique example to the representatives of institutions all over the world.

For this reason, we are thinking of organizing the next meeting of the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations (IFBDO) in Albania next year.

Apart from being a periodic voluntary blood donor, President Meta is a unique example in the world, among politicians. For this reason but also for many others we have decided unanimously to honor President Meta with the ‘Order of International Blood Merit’, said Massaro.
