Renown Actor Honoured by Tirana Mayor

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has honoured the great Albanian actor, Viktor Zhusti, who turns 81 on Friday, with the "Medal of Recognition" of the city. The mayor thanked the actor Zhusti for his extraordinary contribution to the Albanian theatre and film scene.

"This is a moment to express gratitude, respect, thanks for your extraordinary contribution. You moved us, we laughed, we cried, you are unforgettable for Albanians. On behalf of all the boys and girls of this city, men and women, I wanted to thank you for being part not only of our common memory, but also of our everyday life, in a modest theatre such as the Metropol Theatre, for which I look forward to making more investments. After the National Theatre, we also have the City Theatre. This medal is on behalf of the city of Tirana, in recognition of your work. It is a gesture of respect and thanks with all my heart", said Veliaj.

The great actor, Viktor Zhusti, thanked the Mayor for the medal and all those who have supported him in his journey.

"I thank you from the bottom of my heart, especially the Metropol Theatre, which has been perhaps the warmest shelter for artists in recent years, as well as all the extraordinary spectators of Tirana, who have surrounded me with love and I believe that they have given me much more more than I have given them. Therefore, I always remain indebted to you, to the Metropol Theater, and to all people. Many thanks!” he said.

Viktor Zhusti was born on December 8, 1942 in Athens, Greece. The gallery of roles of Viktor Zhust is very rich with theatrical performances and films.
