Road Accidents in 2021 Decreased, Albanian Transports’ Head Says
Head of the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (DPSHTRR), Blendi Gonxhe, on the eve of the end of 2021, has published Wednesday a report regarding road accidents that have occurred in recent years in Albania.
Through a post on social networks, Gonxhe suggested that a comparison of data has been made on accidents that occurred in 2018, 2019 and 2021, excluding from the list in 2020, as according to him there have been many movement restrictions due to the pandemic .
According to statistics, in 2021, compared to the years under review, there is a decrease in the number of road accidents that have led to fatalities.
Among other things, he emphasizes that the data show that we have a decrease in the age of drivers who cause accidents from 18-24 years to 34 years.
"A few days separate us from December 31, the end of 2021, that the 11-month Road Accident infographics and projections show the most POSITIVE year in terms of a significant decline in the number of accidents, the decline of the driver inclusion index for the number of drivers vehicle / number of road vehicles in circulation, reducing the causes of accidents aged 18-24 to 34 years, reducing fatalities, reducing the number of injured by accidents and increasing road safety for all road users!
Statistics clearly show that much better work with the qualification of new drivers, educational and awareness-raising programs and activities, reform of regulatory acts and punitive measures, investments in infrastructure and signaling are bringing tangible results today while we have tremendous growth of road users in drivers, passengers and road vehicles, but also in pedalists and pedestrians, we have fewer and fewer accidents and casualties!
Please take care during the end of the year not to rush in traffic and in dangerous weather conditions To protect ourselves and others, to celebrate life!
The year 2020 is not included because there was a quarantine and many traffic jams", proclaimed Gonxhe.
