Saranda Prosecution Issues 12 Security Measures for Police Officers, Local Officials, and Businessmen over Abuse of Office and Illegal Construction
Saranda Prosecution Office has issued 12 execution orders tied to allegations of abuse of office, failure to act against illegal activities, and unlawful construction, offenses allegedly committed more than once and in complicity, under Articles 248, 251, 25, 50/h, and 199/a/4 of the Criminal Code.
The security measures were ordered against officials of the Local Inspectorate for Territory Protection of the Municipality of Saranda, officers of the Saranda Police Commissariat, and businessmen in the construction sector, following investigations related to criminal proceeding no.304 of 2026.
To date, security measures have been executed against four of the individuals under investigation:
• B.T., former Head of the High-Volume Crimes Section at the Saranda Police Commissariat, has been placed under house arrest on suspicion of repeated abuse of office;
• K.S., a community policing inspector at the Saranda Police Commissariat, has been remanded in custody on suspicion of abuse of office committed more than once;
• K.SH., also a community policing inspector at the Saranda Police Commissariat, has been remanded in custody on suspicion of abuse of office committed more than once;
• A.P., owner of Hotel Oasis, has been remanded in custody on suspicion of illegal construction.
Efforts are ongoing to enforce the remaining eight court-ordered security measures.
Saranda Prosecution’s investigations remain ongoing to identify all suspected cases, fully document the alleged criminal activity, and establish the individual responsibility of officers at the Saranda Police Commissariat, as well as any other institutions implicated in the case.
