Small Vessels' Sailing Prohibited in Vlora due to Bad Weather
Issuing of sailing permits has been prohibited this Friday until Saturday for small craft and fishing vessels operating outside the bay of Vlora.
Vessels operating within the bay should take into consideration the expected worsening conditions and take safety measures.
"Based on the forecast for the worsened hydrometeorological situation in the bay of Vlora and outside it during the dates 10-11.11.2023 starting from 09:00 on 10.11.2023 in the direction South-South-East in the force up to 6bft with wind speed up to 15m /s, and wave height up to 2.00m inside Vlora bay and outside Vlora bay at 6-7bft force with wind speed up to 20m/s and wave height from 2.00 to 3.00 meters.
1. IT IS PROHIBITED TO GIVE - DEPARTURE PERMISSIONS DURING THE DATES 10-11.11.2023 STARTING FROM 09:00 AM FOR ALL SMALL VESSELS, FISHING VESSELS OPERATING OUTSIDE THE GULF OF VLORA TO BE ANNOUNCED TO TAKE MEASURES FOR THEIR SECURITY .
2. SMALL VESSELS AND FISHING VESSELS OPERATING WITHIN THE GULF OF VLORA HAVE IN CONSIDERATION THE FORECASTED WORSE CONDITIONS AND THE TAKING OF MEASURES FOR THEIR SECURITY.
3. The drivers of fishing vessels and small vessels have been notified of the worsening situation and the taking of measures to secure the vessels in the berthed places to prevent events and situations during the dates 10-11.11.2023.
4. International shipping vessels will continue to operate normally according to destinations.
5. The improvement of the deteriorated hydrometeorological situation in the bay of Vlora and outside it for small boats and fishing will be after 16:00 on 11.11.2023", as quoted from the authorities' announcement.
