Suspect in Portuguese Tourist’s Killing in Ksamil Gives Account of Fatal Clash

Sokrat Vata, the suspected perpetrator in the killing of a Portuguese tourist in Ksamil a day earlier, has given his account of the events that led to the fatal confrontation.

According to Vata, the incident began with an argument between the tourists, who he said were under the influence of alcohol. He said they were asked to keep their voices down because other customers were also present at the establishment.

Vata claimed that attempts to restore calm were unsuccessful and that the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.

In his account, Vata also disputed ownership of the weapon used in the killing, claiming that the knife belonged to the victim rather than to him.

“The knife used to kill the 20-year-old Portuguese tourist belonged to the victim,” Vata said.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation, and Vata’s account represents his version of events.
