Teenager Shot and Injured in Accidental Firearm Incident in Tirana

A 17-year-old boy was injured in a shooting incident in Tirana during the early hours of Sunday, after being accidentally shot by a friend, police said.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 1:40 a.m. on “Berit Beker” street. Officers from the Serious Crimes Investigation Sector immediately responded to the scene to clarify the circumstances and fully document the case.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the shooting took place inside the apartment of 19-year-old R. S. Police said the suspect was showing a pistol to his friend and believed the weapon was not loaded when it accidentally discharged, striking the 17-year-old.

The injured teenager was transported to hospital and remains under medical care.

Following the initial investigative actions, police arrested R. S. on charges of “serious injury by negligence,” “actions obstructing the discovery of the truth,” and “illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.”

Two other individuals, identified as A. V., 20, and H. H., 22, were also arrested on charges related to obstructing the investigation, according to the police statement.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and complete the legal documentation of the case. The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
