Third Suspect Remanded at Saranda Prosecution’s Request Over Explosive in M.Gj. ’s Car Parked at His Home

National I.K. is placed in remand in custody at Saranda Prosecution’s request over charges of attempted premeditated murder in complicity, as well as illegal possession and manufacture of weapons, explosives, and ammunition, under Articles 28, 22, 25, and 278/1 of the Criminal Code
The investigations into criminal proceeding No. 66/2006 were initiated following the placement of a quantity of explosive material (dynamite) in the vehicle of citizen M.Gj., which was parked in the yard of his residence on 5 February 2006.

Saranda Prosecution Office, in cooperation with Vlora Local Police Directorate, identified two of the suspects, G.T. and Xh.B., through proactive investigative actions. Both have been remanded in custody.

Within investigative actions to identify other individuals involved in the crimes under criminal proceeding No. 66/2026, authorities detained I.K. on June 1, 2026, on suspicion of attempted premeditated murder committed in complicity, as well as the illegal possession and manufacture of weapons, explosives, and ammunition, as stipulated in Articles 28, 22, 25, and 278/1 of the Criminal Code.

In execution of the Prosecutor’s detention order against suspect I.K., a TT-model pistol, among other items, was seized at his residence. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to fully establish the circumstances of the incident and identify all individuals involved.
