Two 10-year-old children have died and another has been critically injured following a tragic road accident in the coastal city of Durrës, police said.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 2:20 p.m. in neighborhood No. 15, where a vehicle driven by a 57-year-old man, identified by initials N.R., struck three minors, all approximately 10 years old.

As a result of the crash, two of the children died at the scene, while the third sustained severe injuries and is being transported to Tirana for more specialized medical treatment.

The driver has been escorted to the police station for further procedural actions. Investigators are currently at the scene working to fully determine the circumstances of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
