Senior Official for the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, Katrina Fotovat has given the Gender Champion Award to the Albanian Government for its leadership and historic role providing safe shelter for Afghans in need to Deputy Foreign Minister Megi Fino.

This information was revealed by the US Embassy in Tirana, the press office of which announced that Fino accepted the Gender Champion Award on behalf of the Government of Albania.

On her part, the Senior Official Fotovat expressed her gratitude to the people of Albania for their hospitality and for sharing their warmth with those in need.

“Katrina Fotovat, the Senior Official for the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues visited Albania yesterday and presented the Gender Champion Award to the Albanian Government for its leadership and historic role providing safe shelter for Afghans in need. Deputy Foreign Minister Megi Fino accepted the Gender Champion Award on behalf of the Government of Albania.

The Senior Official expressed her gratitude to the people of Albania for their hospitality and for sharing their warmth with those in need. She thanked the Albanian people for their close cooperation and friendship with the United States.

The Senior Official also had an opportunity to discuss important issues such as women’s empowerment, peace, and security during her meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister Fino”, announced the US Embassy.
